Okay, Florida, you had your chance to move your

Primary back to March 2012

Kicks off Month-Long Florida Orange Juice Boycott!

TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA – California businessman and former Reagan aide Fred Karger continues his campaign to get Florida to stop hurting the selection of the next President of the United States.  Karger will keep his campaign promise by calling for a national boycott of Florida Orange Juice effective November 1, 2011 and for the next 30 days or until Florida officials come to their senses.

New Commercial and Web Site to Launch Boycott

The November Boycott kicks off with a slick new commercial called “Anita Who?” made by our incredible filmmaker Kristina Lapinski:

“Every four years we pick the nominees for President of the two major political parties in this country,” said Karger.  “Now for whatever reason the state of Florida moved its Primary from March 2012 to January 31, 2012, forcing the four traditionally early states to move their primaries up as well.  New Hampshire, Iowa, South Carolina and Nevada all lose half their delegates because of Florida.  The voters lose, too.  Voters need more time to get to know all eleven serious GOP candidates for President.  We hope that by putting economic pressure on Florida’s 2nd largest industry – Orange Juice – state leaders will do the right thing.”

“It appears that frontrunner Mitt Romney is the only one who benefits by Florida’s move.  He hopes to wrap this up by January 31st and this is way too important a decision to short-circuit the process just to help Romney,” concluded Karger.

Send Florida politicians a message, “Quit mucking up the election and move the Florida Primary back to March!”

Florida is jeopardizing the most important decision we make as Americans every four years; the election of the President of the United States. By violating Republican National Committee rules and choosing Jan. 31, 2012 for its presidential primary, Florida has caused tremendous disruption in the presidential selection process, and has gained nothing by moving its primary date forward.

Florida will remain the fifth contest, and has created havoc and uncertainty in New Hampshire, Iowa, Nevada and South Carolina by forcing these four states to go earlier than planned. The “Sunshine State” would only serve to rob voters of one of the most important tools they need to make an informed decision: time.  (MORE…)

“You’ll meet the people who made my life so interesting: from Rock Hudson to Ronald Reagan.  From Lynda “Wonder Woman” Carter to Barry Goldwater.  From Cesar Chavez to Lee Atwater, and more. I’ve been a part of nine presidential campaigns, and more Senate, gubernatorial, congressional and state and local campaigns than I can count.  I’ve represented Fortune 500 companies and worked with environmental groups.  I’ve made friends with the hotel workers union and enemies of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons).  I’ve supported Hillary Clinton and gone after Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee.  I’ve been featured in one of the most famous commercials of all time, and I’ve had my life threatened.  And perhaps most interesting of all, I led a dual existence for the first fifty-six years of my life.”

It’s a page-turner and one you won’t want to miss reading.

All American Troops to Come Home from Iraq by December 31, 2011

For the last two years we’ve been calling on President Obama to end both wars and bring our service members home from Iraq and Afghanistan.  I was particularly pleased to watch the announcement that we will be leaving Iraq by the end of the year.

As we wind down both wars, and hopefully cut our military spending, I hope that Americans will respond by hiring our returning veterans.  Businesses large and small, along with labor and individuals should make a huge effort to hire these brave veterans.  There are many web sites to facilitate this and these heroes will not let you down!

Fred Talks About the Mormon Faith and Romney Keeping Him Out of Debates

Thanks to all at Comedy Central for making the interview possible!

Re:  Potential Boycott of Florida Orange Juice

Florida is jeopardizing the most important decision we make as Americans every four years, the election of the President of the United States.

By violating Republican National Committee rules and choosing January 31, 2012 for Florida’s Presidential Primary, you have created havoc in the Presidential selection process.  Florida has gained nothing by moving its primary date forward and will remain the fifth contest.  You have caused tremendous disruption and uncertainty in Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and South Carolina.  Florida would rob voters of one of the most important tools they need to make an informed decision: time.

Voters need time during the coming months to fully vet all eleven serious Republican Presidential candidates.  Florida would potentially rob American voters of two months of campaigning which only helps the frontrunner.  As one of these candidates for President, I cannot sit idly by while the state of Florida threatens the entire selection process.

The 2012 presidential election is of extreme importance.  Our nation is at a crucial juncture and Florida’s poorly thought out decision is ill-conceived and un-American.

Boycott Florida Orange Juice

If Florida does not agree to move its primary back to its original date in March 2012 by November 1, 2011, we will officially launch a nationwide Boycott of Florida Orange Juice.  We have the domain name, have begun developing our web site and have the ticking orange on our logo:

In my fight for civil rights over the last three years, I have led four national and global boycotts.  I was involved in the Anita Bryant inspired Florida Orange Juice Boycott in 1978, and am keenly aware of the economic pressure that boycotts wield.  I have begun speaking with Republican and political leaders in New Hampshire, Iowa, South Carolina and Nevada.  There is tremendous interest in our possible boycott.
