Talk About “What I Would Have Said in Tonight’s Debate”

GREENVILLE, SOUTH CAROLINA – Presidential candidate Fred Karger will hold a News Conference today at 3:00 pm (EDT) at the Courtyard Marriott Downtown Greenville, 50 West Broad St., Greenville, SC in the “Veranda on Main” Room.  The hotel is located directly across the street from the Peace Center, where the South Carolina Republican Party & Fox News Republican Presidential Debate will take place six hours later.

Karger, the first out gay candidate to ever run for President of the United States, is in Greenville to attend tonight’s first debate of the 2012 election.  He received an invitation to the debate, but did not meet all of the criteria.  Karger along with former Governor Buddy Roemer and former Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore were unable to participate because they had not been included in the required five national polls.  However, Karger was included in last Friday’s Fox News’ National Poll and scored 1% to tie with former Governors Gary Johnson (NM) and Jon Huntsman (UT).  He even beat out Buddy Roemer (0%) and was only 2 points behind Michele Bachmann and Rick Santorum – both at 3%.  Karger recently finished first in the biggest New Hampshire Straw Poll of the year, defeating former Governor Mitt Romney (MA) by 5 votes.

“I am very disappointed that I will not be participating in tonight’s debate, but I will be in the audience,” said Karger.  “I had hoped to be on stage with the other candidates, but I understand the rules set by the organizers, and as long as they were uniformly enforced, I have no objection.  I am very excited to be in Greenville.  Rina Shah, our Communications Director and I will be in the Peace Center tonight to watch the proceedings.  I will be emailing a live feed into the Huffington Post during the debate, and will be available to comment on the proceedings immediately following the debate.”

New Hampshire Bound

Then it’s off to New Hampshire first thing tomorrow morning for a full three day schedule including attending the annual Dartmouth College Gay Pride Dinner Friday night.  Karger will lead his very first (of many) big Saturday Precinct Walks.  Karger and at least 20 volunteers will give away up to 3,000 brand new Fred Frisbees to registered voters throughout Hanover and Lebanon, NH as they campaign door-to-door talking to voters.

Tyler Ford, Karger’s Dartmouth Coordinator is organizing the walk, and any interested volunteers should contact him at Ford@FredKarger.com.  The walk begins at 10:30 am this Saturday, May 7th in Hanover.  There will be a speaker, Dunkin Donuts, coffee and instructions before everyone heads out to walk the neighborhoods with a bagpiper leading the way.

“Demon Frisbee” Commercial to Run in New Hampshire and on YouTube

A 30 and 60-second version of the fast-paced commercial, “Demon Frisbee” will begin airing this Saturday, May 7, 2011 on WMUR TV and on Cable throughout the Granite State for one week.  It will launch the Karger campaign’s big Saturday precinct walks and Fred Frisbee Giveaways slated for many Saturdays until next February’s first-in-the-nation primary (weather permitting).

The John Keitel produced commercial will be previewed at the News Conference.
